Daniel Shorr passed away yesterday at the age of 93. I have been listening to his news analysis segments on NPR since..maybe I was five years old or so. His voice went from slightly husky to somewhat husky, but seemed like his reporting was a permanent part of this universe.
NPR ran a ton of clips from interviews with him in his memory today, and there were all kinds of charming anecdotes.
He certainly was from another age--Somebody who was very up front about his journists code of ethics. Not a lot of that going on these battle-of-the-sensational-news times.
